Rocky Mountain Bighorn Society 50th Anniversary Rifle
Legendary outdoor writer Jack O'Connor developed a deep affection for sheep hunting in the 1940s and introduced the larger hunting community to the thrill of chasing rams in the remote and rugged landscapes through stories of his pursuits throughout North America. In 1954, O’Connor would settle on the perfect combination of rifle and stock, choosing an exceptionally accurate Winchester Model 70 standard rifle chambered in .270 Winchester as his sheep hunting rifle. O’Connor referred to the rifle as “Sheep Rifle No 1," and he both hunted with and wrote about his Number 1 rifle in the years that followed. Jack said, "If the hunter does his part, the .270 will not let him down."

Through O'Connor's writing over the decades, the Model 70 chambered in .270 Winchester became known as the classic rifle for chasing sheep. So, it's fitting that on the 100th anniversary of the .270 Winchester cartridge, we have a beautiful Model 70 chambered for that caliber to recognize and celebrate 50 years of our wild sheep conservation efforts in Colorado. This beautiful, one-of-a-kind rifle is a Model 70 Super Grade, and was elegantly engraved by Bobby Tyler of Tyler Gun Works to recognize the Rocky Mountain Bighorn Society’s 50th Anniversary. This rifle has an exquisite walnut stock and would make a beautiful addition to the discerning gun aficionado's collection. Don't let the opportunity to own this piece of art pass you by!
